Coyle Group are one of the world’s leading organisations providing recruitment and health and safety management services in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.  They are in a leading position when it comes to supplying key HSE and Engineering staff in the renewable energy sector as they currently have offices in Ireland, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, South East Asia and India.

In November 2015 Coyle Group won a major contract with Danish Company, Vestas, to supply key HSE staff in Wind Energy.  By supplying staff to Sweden, Poland and Finland so far, they have already demonstrated that they are in a leading position when it comes to supplying key HSE staff in the wind energy sector.

Just recently Vestas signed an agreement of co-operation with the Punjab Government in Pakistan, to build the first stage of a 1GW wind farm in the southwest province.  It is likely that key HSE staff along with a variety of other disciplines including Engineers and Technical Consultants will be in demand here too.

The first stage of 250 MW Vestas development is likely to commence in 2018 as the government waits to obtain the $2.2 billion needed to finance the Quaid e Azam Wind Park.  Vestas and the Danish Embassy have confirmed they are working closely with the Punjab Government to obtain the funds they require for all four phases of the project.

The Quaid e Azam Wind Park is just one of the many developments that the government is actively pursuing.  Pakistan has had a severe energy crisis in recent years where they have experienced power blackouts for up to 18 hours at time and they are hoping they can put an end to this crisis in the very near future.

Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has announced that he is very grateful to the Government of Denmark and the Danish Ambassador saying  “Punjab would vigorously benefit from the expertise and cooperation of Denmark in wind technology to deal with its energy crisis”.

Pakistan currently have a large number of wind energy projects in the various stages of development with 28 currently under construction, 9 having reached financial closure and 14 are in different stages of development.

Pakistan is emerging as an interesting market in the energy sector for Danish companies especially, as Denmark have been pioneering the way for wind energy for a long time now. The Danish government plans to engage with the government stakeholders in Pakistan as they move toward renewable energy solutions.  This will enable them to transfer their Danish experience in the areas of wind policy, technical integration of wind and financing.
